Revolut users participating in the current referral campaign have 19 days from 17 September 2026 to complete the requirements needed to earn a £70 reward for each qualifying friend, with the campaign deadline falling on 6 October.
The promotion places a clear emphasis on converting referrals into active account users rather than simply generating registrations. Each referred friend must complete the required onboarding and activity stages before the deadline for the person making the referral to qualify for the reward.
The first requirement is for the friend to sign up to Revolut using the unique referral link and successfully verify their identity. Using the referral link is important because it connects the new account with the relevant campaign.
The new customer must then add money to their Revolut account. Funding can be completed using methods including a bank card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or a bank transfer. A transfer received from another Revolut account does not satisfy this requirement, making the source of the initial funding an important part of the process.
A physical Revolut card must also be ordered. The referral requirements specify a physical personal card, while cards associated with Revolut Pro, Kids & Teens, Revolut Business or a Joint account do not qualify for this particular step.
The spending requirement is another key part of the campaign. Each referred friend needs to make five qualifying purchases of at least £5 each using their Revolut card. Certain transactions are excluded from qualifying purchase activity, including currency exchanges, transfers, gambling transactions and gift card purchases.
Timing is particularly relevant because card payments do not necessarily count immediately after they are made. Revolut records the card-payment requirement as completed once the relevant transactions have been fully processed. With the 6 October deadline approaching, leaving all five purchases until the final day could therefore create unnecessary timing risk if one or more transactions remain pending when the campaign closes.
Only the person making the referral receives the referral reward unless Revolut has specifically communicated a separate incentive to the person joining. The progress of each referral can be monitored through the Invite Friends section of the Revolut app, where completed requirements are shown as they are recognised.
Beyond the referral incentive itself, Revolut is designed around regular use of a digital bank account and debit card. Its services include everyday spending, money transfers and tools for organising money through the app. Customers can also create virtual cards and add them to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, providing an additional way to start making digital payments.
Revolut also offers RevPoints on eligible purchases, which can be redeemed for benefits including airline miles and other rewards, subject to the applicable terms and account plan. Its wider platform includes savings products, security features and access to investment services, although availability, pricing and specific benefits can depend on the customer’s location and chosen plan.
The referral structure therefore encourages new customers to move through several stages of adoption within a relatively short period, from opening and funding an account to ordering a card and using it for everyday purchases. For Revolut, that approach links customer acquisition with actual product engagement rather than registration alone, while the fixed 6 October deadline makes completion timing an important consideration for anyone taking part in the £70-per-friend campaign.
