Touchstone Exploration is advancing drilling, workover and production optimisation programmes across its Trinidad and Tobago assets, with several operational milestones scheduled for the rest of 2026.
The company has completed preparations for two drilling locations on the WD-4 block and moved the drilling rig into position for a two-well campaign. The first well was scheduled to spud in mid-September. The programme is aimed at adding oil production from an established operating area.
At the Cascadura field on the Ortoire block, Touchstone has completed a solvent squeeze treatment at the Cascadura-2ST1 well. The treatment delivered an incremental production improvement and could support similar work on other wells where conditions are suitable.
The company plans to assess further solvent treatments during the second half of 2026. This gives Touchstone another way to improve production from existing wells without depending entirely on new drilling.
More work is planned at Cascadura in October. Touchstone intends to carry out a workover of Cascadura-3ST1 and a recompletion of Cascadura-5. The results will help show how much additional production can be recovered from the field through targeted well interventions.
Compressor performance is also improving. The Cascadura booster compressor began operating on 9 July and has increased availability following initial commissioning issues. Uptime rose from about 57 per cent in July to 73 per cent in August.
Gross natural gas production increased alongside the improvement, averaging 9.7 MMcf/d in July and 12.6 MMcf/d in August, compared with about 6.6 MMcf/d in June. Touchstone is continuing to optimise the compressor and is targeting 97 per cent availability.
Higher compressor reliability is important because it can support greater and more consistent gas throughput from Cascadura. Progress towards the availability target will therefore be a key measure of how effectively Touchstone can use its existing infrastructure.
