Tile Africa builds value through local design

Norcros Plc

Tile Africa is placing local design at the centre of its retail strategy, using South African creativity to make its stores and product ranges more distinctive.

At its Paarden Eiland store, the company has brought together local designers, makers and suppliers to create a showroom with a stronger design identity. This gives customers more than a standard retail experience and helps Tile Africa stand apart in a competitive market.

A central part of the offer is the Ntyatyambo™ tile collection, created with Laduma Ngxokolo of MaXhosa Africa. The range uses Xhosa-inspired patterns in a modern tile format and is exclusive to Tile Africa.

Tile Africa has also included work from Wolkberg Casting Studios, led by Ramielle de Jager. Its Limesite™ concrete material adds a durable and design-focused product to the store environment.

The company has also commissioned local studios Modern Gesture, Be STIIL and Tylawood to create bespoke pieces for the Paarden Eiland flagship store. These additions make the space feel more considered and help connect the brand with South African craftsmanship.

Norcros plc (LON:NXR) is a leading B2B producer of branded bathroom and kitchen products for its UK, South African and selected export markets. The portfolio is characterised by strong individual brands, together providing product breadth and channel diversity from a strong supply chain base.
