Schroders Capital has committed more than £100 million through its UK Innovation Long-Term Asset Fund.
The fund, launched in September 2024, raised £500 million at first close, with support from the British Business Bank and Standard Life. It has also received more than £68 million from local government pension schemes, including the London Borough of Lambeth Pension Fund.
Schroders remains one of Finsbury Growth & Income trust’s listed holdings, and this update is an example of the company investing in areas where long-term demand could grow.
The fund has now invested in 12 companies and formed relationships with seven venture capital managers. Its investments include businesses in artificial intelligence, autonomous driving software, AI video communication, legal technology, energy, biotechnology and biopharmaceuticals. Named investments include Eleven Labs, Wayve, Synthesia, Luminance, Tem Energy, AAVantgarde Bio, Draig Therapeutics, Artios Pharma and Kinaset Therapeutics.
Finsbury Growth & Income Trust Plc (LON:FGT) invests in the shares of predominantly UK-listed companies, with the objective of achieving capital and income growth.
