Record builds international private markets reach with Sharia-compliant platform

Record-plc

Record Financial Group has launched Record Amanah, a dedicated platform designed to provide Sharia-compliant investment solutions, as the company continues to broaden its private markets capabilities and international client offering.

The platform has been established by Record Asset Management GmbH, the group’s European asset management arm, in partnership with Khalij Group, a London-based specialist in Islamic finance. It will initially concentrate on private markets and private equity opportunities structured in accordance with established Sharia principles.

The launch gives Record a defined framework through which it can develop products for institutions seeking private market exposure that also meets Islamic finance requirements. This may improve the company’s positioning in regions where demand for Sharia-compliant structures is expanding, particularly the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

Record Amanah follows a series of Sharia-compliant transactions completed by the group, including a recent mandate for a client in Brunei. Moving from individual transactions to a dedicated platform may allow the company to apply its operational processes, governance controls and investment expertise across a wider range of mandates.

The partnership combines Record’s institutional investment capabilities with Khalij Group’s experience in structuring and advising on Islamic finance.

Record has been expanding beyond its traditional investment and risk management activities into areas that can support longer-term institutional relationships and differentiated fee opportunities. Private equity and other private market investments often require specialist sourcing, structuring, governance and ongoing oversight. Record has stated that solutions offered through the platform will retain the investment, risk management and governance standards applied across its wider business.

Record plc (LON:REC) develops bespoke, high-quality, sophisticated solutions for institutional investors, a unique offering stemming from Record’s knowledge and expertise gained from its core currency hedging markets.
