Ilika’s pilot line shift signals a licensing model in motion

Ilika Plc

Ilika’s Goliath pilot line is now fully commissioned and producing cells. This 1.5 MWh facility will manufacture 10 Ah solid state prototypes in the near term, with 50 Ah samples to follow. Both formats are aimed at demonstrating commercial viability to prospective partners across automotive, industrial and consumer sectors.

Production of the first 10 Ah units is expected by December, offering a near-term proof point. These will be used to support customer evaluation programmes, including performance benchmarking and integration testing. If results meet expectations, the 50 Ah format will move forward, with scaling supported through Ilika’s collaboration with an established battery industrialisation centre.

Many early-stage battery firms remain locked in R&D cycles or dependent on outsourced production. Ilika’s shift into controlled pilot output signals a more advanced stage of readiness. It strengthens its position in licensing negotiations and improves visibility for OEMs assessing integration paths.

Ilika plc (LON:IKA) is a pioneer in solid state battery technology enabling solutions for applications in Industrial IoT, MedTech, Electric Vehicles and Consumer Electronics.
