Genflow Biosciences reported continued progress from its gene therapy study in ageing dogs.
The SLAB trial includes 24 beagles aged over 10 years. The animals were split into four groups to compare treated dogs with control groups. Three months after treatment, Genflow said the treated dogs were showing better survival rates than the control animals. No adverse events had been reported.
The update supports continued development of the programme, but the study is still at an early stage but the current results are encouraging. Genflow is now reviewing biological age markers and muscle data from the trial. These measurements show whether the treatment is creating a clear biological effect.
The next key milestone is the six-month dataset. This should show whether the early improvements continue and whether the treatment produces a consistent response over time.
That result will help determine the programme’s next step. Strong data could support further studies and give the company more confidence in the treatment’s potential. Mixed results could slow development or require changes to the research plan.
