From foreign exchange to international payments

Finseta Plc

Finseta’s story begins in 2010 with the establishment of PlutusFX Ltd, a foreign exchange business focused on helping companies manage international payments.

The company builds its business around foreign exchange and technology, developing its own payment platform to support its operations. The first version of the platform is created in 2012. The technology later becomes a business in its own right. In 2016, Finseta makes the platform available as a white-label solution, allowing other foreign exchange companies to use the technology under their own brands.

The business subsequently operates under the FXPress and CornerstoneFS names before becoming Finseta. This period also brings a greater focus on acquisitions, international expansion and regulated payment services.

CornerstoneFS joins the London Stock Exchange’s AIM market in 2021 under the ticker CSFS. That year, the company expands its international operations, establishes an Asia team and receives its Electronic Money Institution licence from the Financial Conduct Authority.

Finseta also opens an office in Dubai in 2021, giving the company a base in the region and supporting its international expansion.

The company grows through acquisitions in 2022, acquiring Capital Currencies Ltd in January and Pangea FX Ltd in September. The acquisitions add to its foreign exchange and international payment capabilities. In 2023, the company sells Avila House Ltd to Aspire Commerce Ltd as it focuses more closely on its international payments business.

The international expansion continues in 2024, when Finseta receives FINTRAC authorisation to operate in Canada. The company also adopts the Finseta name, replacing CornerstoneFS as it positions itself around international payments and financial technology.

Finseta continues adding products and expanding its international presence in 2025. It launches a corporate card, opens an office in Toronto and expands its regulated operations in Dubai. Finseta International Payments (DIFC) receives a Category 3D licence from the Dubai Financial Services Authority, adding to the company’s regulatory coverage.

Today, Finseta provides international payments, foreign exchange, multicurrency accounts, mass payments, corporate cards and bespoke payment solutions.
