Elegant Hotels PLC LON:EHG may benefit from an unlikely hero in the form of tropical plants found on the island of Barbados. The Elegant Hotels Group own and operate five luxury hotels situated along stunning beaches on the west and south coasts of sun-soaked Barbados.
The island recently received some good news as they scooped the gold medal at the Chelsea Flower Show, which will add yet another reason for holidaymakers to consider Barbados as a preferred destination.
Instead of the usual focus on magnificent tropical flowers, this year’s Barbados display mainly comprised a wide variety of plants and vines that can be found in a gully, such as bearded fig tree vines, dracaenas, alocasia, several species of ferns and a number of tall palms.
The display also included a number of orchids, ginger lilies and ornamental bananas in key locations.
“A gold medal at the Chelsea Flower Show is the most prestigious accolade in the horticultural world and the Barbados team worked extremely hard to get this one!” BHS said in a statement.
So not only is it the stunning beaches that will attract people to the hotels like those owned by Elegant Hotels PLC LON:EHG, but now it seems that the local plant life will be playing a supporting role also.
